EUROPEAN ROBIN

(Erithacus rubecula)

Robin's are common though out the UK, often paired with Christmas. Although robins can be seen all year round, you can hear their songs all the time as they are very territorial. In the image you can see a robin cutting though the bottom of the image, while the robin sits in the left of the image while there's negative space to the right.

MAGPIE

(Pica pica)

Magpies have black, white, blue and green feathers. Their beaks and legs are black. Magpies will eat whatever they can get their hands on, they can scavenge for food or forage for seeds. In the image the magpie has it head raised with a seed in its mouth as it stands on a pill of seeds.

DUNNOCK

 (Prunella modularis)

Dunnocks have brown, grey and black feathers with brown legs and black thin beak. The dunnock in the image is sitting on a wooden fence, in the image the dunnock has its back to the image whilst it looks behind it's self.

CHAFFINCH

(Fringilla coelebs)

Males chaffinches have different plumage to females, males have orange, blue, pink, purple and red. Females and males share grey, brown, green, cream, white and yellow plumage. In the image, the chaffinch is sitting on a branch, theirs another branch next to the chaffinch which is out of focus.

HOUSE SPARROW

(Passer domesticus)

The house sparrow is apart of the family of old world sparrows. Monitoring of their population shows this species population has been dropping. Estimate to have dropped by 71% from 1977 and 2008, with both rural and urban populations have shown to be declining. Although Wales, Scotland and Ireland population show a rise in population, the population within England still show a decline.

BLUE TIT

(Cyanistes caeruleus)

Within winter, multiple blue tit's will join together to search for food, which means a bird feeder with four or five blue tit's could possible be feeding up to 20 individuals. Being a small bird only weighting about 11 grams on average, they mostly feed off insects, seeds and nuts.

COAL TIT

(Periparus ater)

The coal tit is a rather small member of the tit family weighing between 8 to 10 grams on average and having a small wingspan of 17 to 21 cm.
